With ballet shoes it is essential that they fit very snug so that they don't end up coming off while the child is dancing. Most ballet shoes will feature a strap that helps keep the shoe where it should be and this is something that is necessary for children.

Perhaps more than any other type of shoe ballet shoes must be very flexible. Many more experienced ballet dancers my want something a little more supportive but for children the flexibility of the shoe is vital. The shoes should protect while allowing for a natural feel and movement.

Of course you always want to look for quality when shopping for any type of shoe and ballet shoes are no exception to this rule. You can spend a few bucks and end up having to buy several more pairs during a year or you can invest more upfront for shoes that will last.
