Supposedly things happen in three's, but they didn't yesterday. I also screwed up a computer program by not knowing what I was doing. Thankfully, I knew enough to call it a night and hope that the reasons for what had happened would be obvious in the morning. Hoping to know why yesterday happened is often my motivation for getting up in the morning.
The reason my older sister didn't answer the door when her blind date arrived was that she was busy studying for a college, biology final. I answered the door, met John and we were married two years later. Opportunity doesn't always knock. Sometimes it rings the doorbell.
Often following my intuition is why I do things. One time I told John I didn't want to get on a plane because I had a bad feeling about it. John said fine; but if nothing happened to the plane, he wouldn't listen to my intuition again. "If something happens to the plane", I replied, "you won't have to listen to my intuition again".
Every child grows through the why stage - wanting to know why he has to eat peas, why they're good for him, why they have vitamins. This is the point when many parents would have given into frustration and said, "Because I say so". Now we don't have to say that. Now we can say, "Google it".
The phone rings when we're soaking in the tub to give us a legitimate excuse for not answering it. The purpose of traffic is to slow us down - to give us time to appreciate a slower pace of life. Our bodies slow down to make it easier for us to stop and smell the roses. A woman's fertility decreases in direct proportion to her ability to keep up with a two-year-old.
After God created the world he rested on the seventh day. Could there be a better role model? God described his work as very good - not perfect. He didn't stress for perfection. Who am I thinking I can one-up God?
