Online Shopping Frustrations

You may have a complaint on the goods that you have just purchased from an online merchant but unless you have unquestionable proof that it is the fault of the retailer, you can expect to shoulder the return shipping expenses. In fact for heavy items, the cost for the return may skyrocket enough to let you settle with the less than satisfactory item.
When you order any item for that matter, ensure that it is exactly what you are looking for and that you have read the online store's return policy. An online store that has a physical store where online orders are allowed to be returned would be a good place to shop if that online store's brick and mortar shop is near you.
Some shopping sites require you to create some sort of account with log in names and passwords even if you are just out to purchase just one small item. A good shopping site should not require you to do such things and instead build that relationship slowly until you feel that you want to establish a long term relationship with the merchant.
Some web based services may offer free short term subscriptions as trial to entice customers. But then you realize after availing of the trial period or subscribing for a short period of time (especially if you have already provided your credit card information) it is hard to cancel the subscription. Before availing of any online service, ensure that you will know how to break off the subscription.
Shoppers always feel that thrill when they find a good deal on an item that may be on sale, on discount or at a very low price. Before giving yourself credit for being such a savvy shopper and finalizing your purchase, take a look at all the charges that you will be paying for including shipping and handling costs as well as taxes. The overall costs may give you second thoughts about whether you had actually strike a good deal. Compare on at least three different sites the cost of the item plus other charges.
